islamabad: The Election Commission has issued permits to foreign journalists for coverage of the 2024 elections.
In the first phase, 49 journalists from 13 countries have been given election coverage permits.
Permits have been issued to journalists from China, Japan, USA, UK, Canada, France and Hong Kong.
Permits have also been issued to journalists from Serbia, Sweden, Germany, Australia, Thailand and Singapore.
2 lakh accreditation cards have been printed by Election Commission.
Delegations from the European Union, Commonwealth countries will also come to observe the election. About 136 foreign journalists have applied for coverage of the general elections. The remaining foreign journalists will be issued permits after the process is completed.
