The Sindh High Court accepted for hearing the petition against the acquittal of former police officer Rao Anwar in the Naqeebullah murder case.
Appeals against the acquittal of former SSP Malir Rao Anwar and others were heard in the Sindh High Court.
It has been argued in the appeal that the anti-terrorism court acquitted Rao Anwar and other accused and ignored the evidence, the anti-terrorism decision should be annulled.
The court accepted the appeal against Rao Anwar’s acquittal for hearing.
The Sindh High Court also sought the complete record of the case from the Anti-Terrorism Court. The court has also sought a reply from the Prosecutor General of Sindh.
It should be noted that the Anti-Terrorism Court of Karachi pronounced the verdict in the Naqeebullah murder case on January 23, 2023 and acquitted 18 accused including Rao Anwar due to lack of evidence.
